Farming

Information

Agrifos I/S is a modern agri partnership consisting of six primary farms focused on Danish crop production. Today, we cultivate approximately 3,200 hectares of highly fertile agricultural land on Lolland, just north of Nakskov. Our crop production is conventional, with a focus on crops well-suited to the region and the coastal climate in which we are located.

However, our work is about more than just farming. We approach each day with a holistic mindset, driven by innovation, and we strive to be a leading part of the future of sustainable agriculture. Our goal is to create high-quality results, produced with respect for each other and the ecosystems of the earth.

Crops

We operate a diversified and risk-mitigated crop rotation plan, which is designed on factors such as economics, sowing and harvest times, perennial crops, and the risk of weed proliferation, among other considerations.

Our current crop plan includes:

The variety of crops ensures that we maintain healthy soil, while we typically leave all plant residues in the field. This practice sequesters carbon in the soil, an often overlooked but highly important climate perspective, and it also enhances the habitat for earthworms and other microorganisms.

Machines

At Agrifos, we aim to lead the way in modern Danish agriculture with a high-tech and efficient fleet of machinery. We handle the majority of our fieldwork and service tasks ourselves, outsourcing only a few specialized jobs. All of our machines are equipped with GPS and precision technology, which reduces our resource consumption and maximizes yield potential.

We follow a strict maintenance and reinvestment strategy, ensuring not only stability and continuous efficiency improvements, but also helping to lower our unit costs by reducing input relative to output.

In addition, new machinery often comes with innovative solutions that enhance our sustainable management of agricultural land, allowing us to further optimize our results in harmony with nature.
