Gammeleje

Lyvej 30, 4900 Nakskov

The history of Gammeleje dates back to 1821, when the Zacho family owned it for three generations. In 1871–1872, the Zacho family was responsible for the construction of the farm buildings and the main house, before the property was sold out of the family in 1912. In 1941, the farm buildings were rebuilt after large parts had been destroyed by a fire, and shortly thereafter, the property was sold to new owners.

In 1971, Erik Høegh bought Gammeleje and ran it until 1979, when I/S Gammeleje was established as part of a generational change to Carsten Høegh. At that time, the partnership encompassed 240 hectares. In 1986, Charlotte Høegh joined I/S Gammeleje, and she remains today still a co-owner. Most recently, in 2019, Benjamin Høegh the third generation, became part of the partnership as a co-owner.
