Nøjsomhed

Nøjsomhedsvej 35, 4900 Nakskov

"Nøjsomhed" was built in 1786 by Chamberlain Count Chr. Fr. Knuth. In the early 19th century, it was owned by the Guldborg family.

In 1856, Baron Guldborg sold the 545-acre "Nøjsomhed" to proprietor Niels Hay Friis, who owned the estate for 24 years. He sold it to a son, master of hunt Smith of Rudbjerggaard for the price of 350,000 kroner.

In 1870, Friis erected a new main building on "Nøjsomhed." He also built a large barn capable of holding several hundred loads of grain. It was one of the so-called clay barns. The walls were exceptionally thick and made of rammed clay. He built this large barn for approximately 1,000 Rigsdaler.

In 1902, Mrs. Friis sold the estate to proprietor Carl Aage Schultz for 215,000 kroner. He sold it again in 1914 to manager N. Chr. Petersen for 425,000 kroner, and in 1926, he sold the farm for 800,000 kroner to V. Erhard-Frederiksen. After his death in 1932, the farm was owned by Mrs. Erhard-Frederiksen.

Svend Rasmussen acquired Nøjsomhed on June 1, 1936, for 400,000 kroner and owned it until his death in March 1992, at the age of 84. His widow, Elly Rasmussen, passed away in the following December.

The estate administrator of Elly Rasmussen sold the farm in 1994 to Henrik Bring Larsen. In 2016, Peter Bring Larsen became a co-owner. Today, the land consists of 485 hectares of arable land and 50 hectares of other land.
