Rudbjerggaard

Hovvasen 9, 4983 Dannemare

Rudbjerggaard was originally a manor farm in the village of Rudbjerg, which is first mentioned in 1231. The village is last mentioned in 1682, after which it disappeared in favor of Rudbjerggaard. In the Middle Ages, the estate was owned by the Crown.

After a succession of prominent owners, including two queens, Ida Margrethe Reventlow (Knuth) purchased Rudbjerggaard in 1755, and upon her death in 1757 she bequeathed Rudbjerggaard, Fredsholm, and Gottesgabe to her son, Baron Conrad Ditlev Knuth.

In 1891, the estate came into the hands of Count Ludvig Eduard Alexander Reventlow, who during his ownership held a leading position in western Lolland. Reventlow managed Rudbjerggaard with great skill, and during his tenure many modern improvements in agricultural cultivation were introduced.

Upon Reventlow’s death in 1916, Rudbjerggaard was taken over by his widow, Benedicte Ulfsparre Reventlow. Prior to this, however, part of the estate had been sold to Ferdinand Reventlow for the construction of the property Vindeholme.

Since 1891, the estate has not been sold on the open market, and as of 2026 Rudbjerggaard is owned by Carl-Johan von Rosen, under whom Fredsholm, Gottesgabe, Savnsøgård, Nakskov Ladegård, and others are included.
